St Thomas’ Church Finchfield Phase 2
After the successful refurbishment of the chapel in 2017 the church had become a busy community space open daily for a drop in coffee club and other weekly activities as well as the Sunday morning church gatherings. With just the one small meeting room more space was already needed to facilitate a wider variety of uses such as mixed age group youth work.
With limited space left on site for development we started proposals with a discreet extension of a similar style to phase 1, however through discussions with planning and the local conservation officer, we amended the scheme to provide a contemporary addition that would enhance the original building and allow us to reach the full capacity of the site. Planning for the second phase was approved at the end of 2019 and we went out to tender in preparation for grant applications before appointing the successful contractor. Work commenced at the beginning of 2020.
